Will new PJM and FERC policies regarding data centers and their use during peak times affect the peak load requirements? Will it affect modeled need for transmission, power generation, and costs?
On April 16, 2026, in Docket No. RM26-4-000 (Large Load Interconnection Docket), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued an "Order Regarding Intent to Act," indicating that FERC intends to act with respect to this docket by the end of June 2026. The Company will review FERC’s decision when it is issued to determine if/how it could be incorporated in future IRPs.
