Integrated Resource Plan (IRP)

Dominion Energy’s Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) is a reliability planning document filed annually with the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) and the North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC). It outlines how the company plans to meet customers’ long-term energy needs and identifies strategies to ensure reliable and affordable electric service while complying with legislative, regulatory, environmental, and operational requirements. The IRP represents a snapshot in time, incorporating current technologies, market conditions, and projected demand growth.

The 2025 IRP Update is considered an update filing, meaning it serves as a mid-cycle revision to Dominion Energy’s 2024 IRP. As such, it is not subject to formal evidentiary proceedings before the SCC or NCUC. Instead, the update is intended to inform stakeholders and regulators of significant developments since the 2024 IRP. It includes revised forecasts for electricity demand, updated assessments of resource adequacy, and adjustments to reflect evolving market conditions.
