Has the Company already, or is the Company planning to discuss, opportunities to add new energy generation through surplus interconnection during the 2026 IRP stakeholder engagement process?
HB1065/SB508 directs the Company to assess available interconnection capacity at existing and planned intermittent electric generation facilities located in the Commonwealth and establish pilot programs for energy storage resources and solar generation facilities that utilize surplus interconnection service, including a request for proposals.
The bill that was signed into law requires utilities to submit the results of such requests for proposals as part of their 2027 plans. We do not anticipate holding a specific discussion on this topic for the 2026 IRP Stakeholder Engagement process.
