When will small modular reactors (SMRs) be forecast to be deployed in Virginia to serve Dominion Energy’s system?
SMRs are incorporated into the IRP as a potential resource option. When offering resources to the IRP model, Dominion Energy specifies the first year in which the model may consider selecting that technology, based on input from Company’s subject matter experts.
In the most recent 2025 IRP Update, SMRs were made available to the model for selection in 2033.
