How do behavioral energy efficiency and customer engagement programs operate, what information do they provide to customers, and how successful have they been in reducing electricity demand and encouraging long-term energy-saving behaviors?

The program, often called Home Energy Reports or Customer Engagement, targets residential customers with higher electricity usage. Dominion Energy works with a specialized vendor that analyzes customer energy-use data and then customers receive reports by mail or electronically. The reports compare a customer's energy use to similar homes and provide personalized recommendations and highlight available energy-saving programs and rebates that may help reduce electricity usage. The goal is to encourage customers to use less energy and lower demand through better awareness and behavior changes.
